Went to the Nissan dealership here in Daytona. Checked out the Murano (drove it, the CVT tranny feels funky, not shifting and all...). It's interesting at best. Then me and the salesguy chatted about my Z, and how he wanted to slap turbos on his '95 J30.. I told him the error of his ways :) Then he showed me a white 6-speed touring 350z. He asks if I'd like to drive it, so I say heck yeah. He says he's got to drive it off the lot - ok. So he guns it out of the dealership and goes around this gradual turn at the front of the dealership... at 90mph! Engine brakes (not breaks you 350 haters :) ), stops, let's me get in the pilot's seat. Tells me to tear it up :) After the first launch/acceleration run, he says he meant not literally, lol. The 350's power is nice and linear, pretty flat torque curve I guess. Nowhere near the pull of my TT, though. I've never driver a stock TT, so I can't compare the 350z to one. But I know my Sport 500 equipped Z pulls a lot harder, and feels like it's making 125hp+ more, rightly so. But man, the 350 felt Awesome in the turns! I took the same curve as the salesguy had, at about 85mph, stuck like glue and felt like it had plenty of room to be pushed. An overall awesome ride that handles great, but doesn't play in the same ballgame as a stage III+ TT, as far as power is concerned. So I thank him for the ride, and take off. I take this curve once more (this time in my TT), and as soon as I'm nearing 80mph, screeeeeech.. my rear tires are breaking loose and I'm heading for the outside corner! Granted, it's an 11 year old, stock suspensioned TT.. and I realize I left my suspension in touring mode! doh! Still, the 350 feels more on rails.. My car feels like a boat now :( Time for suspension mods with $$$ from Santa :) Merry Christmas! Kez
